Bridging Cultures: Symposium on Buddhist Principles for Global Harmony

The Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre, in partnership with the Allahabad University Alumni Association, Ladakh University, and CIBS Leh, organized a Symposium on World Peace and the Significance of Buddhism at the Cultural Hall. The objective was to delve into Buddhism’s profound teachings and their role in advancing worldwide peace.

Distinguished attendees included Dr. Jigmet Deachen, Dean of Student Welfare at Ladakh University; Sonam Angchuk, retired Associate Professor from CIBS Leh; and Dr. IB Jha from AAO, CIBS, who were honored guests at the event.

Venerable Bhikkhu Sanghasena, the Chief Guest, emphasized the importance of Dhamma in today’s world, plagued by conflicts and violence.

Engaging discussions underscored the enduring importance of Buddhist principles in fostering mutual understanding and harmony among diverse nations and cultures.

Ladakh University students showcased a cultural performance, and Miss Jigmet Spaldon delivered a Dhamma song. Renowned actor and singer Shri Phunchok Ladakhi, also a respected Guest of Honour, performed a Dhamma song in tribute to the occasion.

The Symposium underscored the timeless relevance of Buddhist ideals in advancing global unity and comprehension. Padma Dolma, Media Coordinator at MIMC, facilitated the event.
