LAHDC, Kargil Launches Fully Equipped Mobile Medical Unit for CHC Zanskar to Enhance Healthcare Access in Remote Areas

Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmad Khan inaugurated a fully equipped mobile medical unit van for CHC Zanskar on May 20, which was flagged off from the Council Secretariat.

The mobile medical unit van, costing approximately ₹65 lakh, is ready for immediate use and has been funded under the SDP (Special Development Package).

Dr. Munawar Hussain Wazir, Chief Medical Officer Kargil, provided an overview of the van’s various functions. The van is equipped with a state-of-the-art laboratory for testing, a dental unit, camping facilities, an inverter power system, a generator set, and chairs. This comprehensive setup ensures that the van is well-prepared for medical camps in the vicinity of the CHCs (Community Health Centers) or other remote villages.

EC Tashi expressed gratitude to the Principal Secretary of the Health Department, UT Ladakh, and all other relevant individuals involved in facilitating the multi-functional van for CHC Zanskar.

He advised the BMO (Block Medical Officer) of Zanskar and the driver to handle the high-tech van with utmost care, as it will play a crucial role in assisting doctors in providing medical services to the needy patients of Zanskar for a long time to come.
