LAHDC Leh Gears Up for LAMA Workshop and Space Science Exhibition

Deputy Chairman Tsering Angchuk of LAHDC Leh conducted a comprehensive review of the ongoing preparations for two significant events: the collaborative workshop on Ladakh-specific Modeling and Space Applications (LAMA) Project, and the Space Science Exhibition scheduled to take place in Leh from September 9th to 13th. The workshop is a joint effort organized by LAHDC Leh, the University of Ladakh, and the Space Application Centre (SAC) in Ahmedabad.

During the meeting, key officials including ADDC Leh, SE R&B Leh, CEO Leh, Dean of Science at the University of Ladakh, as well as Executive Engineers from various departments including PHE, PDD, and Construction Division, were in attendance.

Deputy Chairman Angchuk emphasized the importance of ensuring all necessary arrangements are made well in advance for the successful execution of these events.

Furthermore, LAHDC Leh and SAC-ISRO in Ahmedabad are actively exploring collaborative mechanisms aimed at establishing science-based decision support systems and advancing space science research and education in Ladakh. Their focus is on developing a joint framework for institutionalizing Ladakh-specific projects, referred to as LAMA (Ladakh-specific Modeling and Space Applications). These projects are designed to address various environmental issues specific to the region.

In addition to this, Deputy Chairman Angchuk also reviewed the preparations for the closing ceremony of the 1st edition of the Climate Cup Football tournament, which is set to take place on September 7th at the Astroturf Open Stadium in Spituk, Leh. The final match of the Climate Cup 2023 will feature Delhi FC and the Tibet National Team.
