Empowering Girls: Celebrating National Girl Child Day in Tangtse with a Focus on Government Initiatives

National Girl Child Day was commemorated at the Primary Healthcare Centre in Tangtse on January 24. The event shed light on various issues concerning girls and highlighted government initiatives aimed at addressing these concerns.

During the event, discussions centered around government schemes focusing on the nutrition, health, and education of girls. Schemes such as the Supplementary Nutrition Program (SNP), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJSY), Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), Prime Minister Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nourishment (POSHAN), Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) were emphasized.

The function was presided over by the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Durbuk. Various departments, including Health, Poshan, Education, RDD, along with the Child Development Project Officer of Durbuk, Block Development Officer of Durbuk, and Incharge Block Medical Officer of Durbuk actively participated in the event.
